Mission Statement
Mission Statement: The House of Hope Peoria, INC is devoted to the community by providing a holistic approach that will assist our participant's mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We believe that we can support our community by utilizing Trauma Informed Care in the highest at-risk areas to decrease violence within our community.
Executive Director Bio:
Terry Burnside, the Executive Director and Founder of House of Hope Peoria Inc, is a native of Peoria, IL, born and raised by Teddy Burnside and Ida Matthews. As the third of four siblings, Terry experienced the tragic losses of his brothers, Victor and Kevin, which profoundly impacted his life. These experiences led him to navigate through difficult circumstances, including incarceration, before finding his calling in community service. Terry's journey towards transformation began with the realization that with the right support and resources, he could navigate through life and reach his fullest potential. Drawing from his personal experiences, Terry established House of Hope Peoria Inc, a violence intervention and prevention organization dedicated to serving at-risk communities in Peoria.

2007
Terry Burnside and a group of men established P-Town Car Club, Inc., aiming to mentor youth and young adults through their shared passion for sports cars.
2007-2022
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, P-Town Car Club, Inc. significantly impacted Peoria, IL, focusing on conflict resolution and mediation.
2022
The organization rebranded to House of Hope Peoria, Inc., and moved to the former Common Place building at 514 S Shelley Street, Peoria, IL 61605.
Present
House of Hope Peoria, Inc. now partners with the Peoria Health Department and has implemented the Cure Violence Global Model. The organization seeks to serve over 100 adults and youth through diverse long-term and short-term programs.
